I live with my blended family near Puget Sound, arguably the most beautiful area in the world.
Writing is how I share what I learned over the past 40+ years and what is important to me as I love, parent, and thrive through health issues and the balance of family and a career.
My favorite things besides writing are coffee, yoga, mountain hikes, laughing, red wine, scenic views, taking pictures and the scent of lavender.
I am divorced with joint custody and secondary care of my daughters. My biological and my stepchildren have second blended family homes outside of ours.
I have health issues. In 2012 I survived two strokes. I have inflammatory arthritis in my sacroiliac joints (sacroiliitis), cervical spinal stenosis, scoliosis, fibromyalgia, and IBS. Also, I am short – four feet eleven inches tall. You will learn about how I thrive despite all this here on my site.
My love story is shareworthy. We met when I was just thirteen years old when our family stayed together on vacation in a condo at Lake Tahoe along with my mom’s best friend and her sister’s families. He lived near Seattle and I lived near San Diego, but we kept in touch through occasional visits, letters, voice audio recorded on cassette tapes, and expensive long distance phone calls. Then we went to college over 1500 miles away from each other and life happened. We met other people, got married, had kids and got divorced. In April of 2011, we saw each other again for the first time in 18 years and our romance finally began. We found a home for our blended family just North of Seattle with a beautiful view of Mt. Pilchuck and Lake Stevens.
I want what Ernest Hemingway describes in his, “A Very Short Story” – to write about life to
make it so I can not lose it.
There are over 7 billion people on Earth having unique experiences, gaining knowledge and adjusting their perspective daily.
I love learning and reading a variety of other people’s work. The passion, humor, and excitement of others who share fuel my desire and motivation to share back.

About 100 topics are planned for this blog. This may seem daunting, but as a mom with four children, I constantly scour the internet for family activities, the latest health information and parenting advice. Although the variety of topics may be broad, I hope my perspective as a parent trying to keep a healthy balance and make each day count will resonate.
